The new look XC60 features a redesigned interior and exterior, with a planned on sale date of early July 2013.
On the outside the exterior black plastic trim is now colour coded with the body colour, the headlights have been redesigned and the LED daytime running lights have been reworked. The forward radar cover has been painted black to blend in with the redesigned front grille which now features a new more aggressive ironmark badge.
You can now specify 20-inch wheels, whilst keeping the same tyre profile height and ride comfort as with 19-inch wheels.
The interior features new wood inlays, a new headliner, textile B-pillars and the silk metal frames around the air vents and light controls.
The XC60 will feature Volvo’s HMI (Human Machine Interface) entitled ‘Sensus’ which comprises seven-inch touchscreen interface with internet connectivity, allowing the user to access to full Internet browsing (except when driving), Internet streaming of music, Internet radio (TuneIn and Orange Live Radio) with thousands of channels from all over the world, on-line (Google) Map and Search, Embedded Connected 3D navigation with online traffic info and dangerous zone warnings, Free Parking locator, weather information, a number of native and web applications, App Store for new functions and updates as well as a Volvo service locator. It is also possible to share the Wi-Fi network with everyone in the car but will of course as with the other services it is subject to data coverage and charges. The system can either tether to your own phone or a car mounted dongle.
The engines have also been tweaked to focus on lower emissions and better economy.
For example the D5 (215 hp) and the D4 (163 hp) versions with a manual gearbox and All Wheel Drive now deliver a combined fuel consumption of 53.3mpg with CO2 emissions of 139 g/km.
Corner Traction Control is now standard across the XC60 range - this is a torque vectoring system that helps the driver avoid understeer by applying brake force to the inner wheels while powering the outer wheels when accelerating out of a bend.
