Volvo has announced that the Volvo V60 Polestar will go on sale in the UK in June 2014 with an expected on sale price circa £42,000.
The V60 Polestar is powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo-charged engine with a new twin-scroll turbo and intercooler to produce 350 HP at 5700 rpm and 500 Nm of torque at 2800 rpm. This equates to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph and 0-62 mph time of 4.9 seconds. It features a six-speed automatic gearbox with a new paddle shift system coupled to a Haldex four-wheel drive system.
Compared to the S60-R the chassis has been modified with the 80% stiffer springs and high performance -hlins shock absorbers riding on 20” Polestar wheels. The brakes have been upgraded with 371 millimetre ventilated front discs and six-piston Brembo calipers.
There are visible changes with bespoke front splitters, optimising the airflow underneath the car, as well as a new rear spoiler and diffuser, increasing downforce.
Even the interior has been re-worked to include new detailing, materials and Polestar colours, such as the steering wheel, seats and more, with the sole purpose of increasing driver support and control.
