The Volvo V40 R-Design is to go on sale in October 2012 with the first deliveries expected in January 2013.
The performance inspired V40 R-Design will be available with the complete V40 engine line-up from the 115hp D2 diesel with CO2 emissions of 94 g/km, to the high-performance 254hp T5 petrol turbo.
On the outside the R-Design front features a silk-metal framed high-gloss grille with re-profiled front bumper and day running lights with an ironstone rear diffuser, silk-metal finished details and twin exhaust tailpipes.
On the inside the interior features embossed R-Design leather/T-Tec upholstery, TFT instrument display, sports steering wheel, sports pedals and unique aluminium inlays.
You can specify the optional sports chassis pack which lowers the car by a further 10mm over the Dynamic chassis; it also adds firmer spring and shock absorbers to facility improved agility.
According to Volvo they expect that around 10 per cent of all V40 worldwide buyers will choose the R-Design version, while in the UK, that figure is expected to rise to 25 per cent.
