Volkswagen’s award-winning Touran compact MPV line-up now offers customers even more flexibility and value for money, with all models now available with seven seats – for the price of five.
Starting at just £14,495 on the road (RRP) for the seven-seater 1.6-litre S, this entry-level price has been cut by £555. And this value continues throughout the range with £630 taken off the cost of all seven-seater SE and Sport versions. This means all prices are competitive, especially when the model’s high equipment levels are taken into consideration.
But for anyone concerned that having seven seats will reduce the flexibility of their vehicle, there’s no need to worry. As when these seats are not in use, they simply fold flat into the floor, freeing up the Touran’s spacious 695 litre boot (that’s 200 litres more than the Passat Estate’s bootspace).
The Touran is unique in its sector, having seven seats and all Euro IV emissions compliant engines. This means significantly lower tax penalties for company car drivers as well as more environmentally-friendly vehicles on the road.
As well as low tax costs, the Touran maintains low whole-life costs, thanks to its fuel efficient engines and class-leading residual values.
What’s more, the Touran scored a class-best five stars in the Euro NCAP crash tests, reinforcing its excellent safety package. All models have ABS with Brake Assist and ESP (Electronic Stabilisation Programme), twin front and side airbags, plus a side curtain airbag system, three-point seatbelts for all seats, active head restraints and Isofix child seat
The Touran is available with a choice of four engines – two petrol and two diesel – and in three trim levels – S, SE and Sport.
With all this taken into consideration, it’s little surprise the Touran was recently voted Best Compact MPV by What Car? magazine, adding this title to its Auto Express New Car Honours Best MPV award.
