Volkswagen is boosting the appeal of its Polo range with the addition of free insurance on certain models from now until the end of next month.

Saving customers the cost and hassle of arranging cover, every Polo E and S model registered from now until 30th September 2002, will come with one year’s free insurance. There are minimal restrictions – unlike on some free insurance offers. The basic requirement is to be a UK mainland retail customer, aged between 21 and 80, who has held a full UK/EU licence for at least 12 months.

This latest offer once again adds value to the Polo proposition, following the specification enhancements in June. All Polos have four airbags, ABS and central locking as standard among a host of other features, while S and above feature Climatic air conditioning.

Five engines are available in the E and S ranges. Petrol versions include the new 1.2-litre three cylinder engines with 55 or 65 bhp; and the 1.4-litre 75 bhp which is also available with automatic transmission; while diesel alternatives are the 1.9-litre 64 bhp SDI; and the award-winning 1.4-litre 75 bhp TDI PD. Both three and five door versions are available throughout the line-up.

E and S model ‘on the road’ prices start at £7,995 for the 1.2-litre 55 bhp 3dr and rise to £11,780 for the 1.4-litre 75 bhp 5dr automatic.
