Hot on the heels of the successful Highline model, Volkswagen is now offering Passat customers even more value for money through a new addition to the range – the Trendline. This new trim level gives enticing value thanks to a number of attractive extras – and yet, amazingly, it costs less money than the S model on which it is based.
Trendline models come with 15" ‘Wellington’ alloy wheels, a leather-trimmed multifunction steering wheel, and cruise control over and above the already comprehensive standard equipment list of the S model. This includes Climatronic electronic climate control; ESP (Electronic Stabilisation Programme) with ABS; CD player; twin front and side airbags plus curtain airbag system; four electric windows and electric mirrors; and remote central locking with alarm.
The Trendline’s extra items of specification represent £935 RRP of additional customer value over the S model. It would be impressive enough if the Trendline was offered at the same price as the entry-level model – but in fact, its RRP is £160 less across the range.
Also, until the 30 September all new Passat customers will receive 2,500 AirMiles for free – enough to fly a family of four to Nice, or fly a couple off for a romantic weekend in Budapest*. And as AirMiles can be used on a choice of 100 airlines, 25,000 hotels, on holidays and cruises, as well as on family days out, this offer provides an additional incentive for car buyers to opt for the Passat.
The Trendline is on sale now, starting at £14,995 RRP on the road, and complements the existing S, SE, Sport, Highline and V models in the popular
Passat range. The Passat is renowned for its class-leading build quality and high residual values, as well as its advanced TDI technology which has helped place it among the top selling diesel cars in the UK.
