The launch of the Golf Mk V is just around the corner, but for anyone who wants to get their hands on a piece of history, there are a number of special edition Mk IV models available.

Just released is the Final Edition. With 14" alloy wheels (15" on 1.9-litre TDI); a CD player; front fog lights; air conditioning; ABS and ESP (Electronic Stabilisation Programme); twin front and side airbags; an immobiliser; and Isofix child seat preparation among a host of other standard equipment features, prices for this Golf start at just £12,120 RRP ‘on the road’ for the 1.4-litre 75 PS. This represents a £755 premium over the price of the E model on which it is based; yet the Final Edition benefits from £1,625 worth of extra equipment.

Other engine choices are the 1.6-litre 105 PS, 1.6-litre 102 PS automatic and the frugal 1.9-litre 100 PS TDI with Volkswagen’s award-winning unit injector technology.

Also still available are a limited number of Golf Match models, offering high specification at a low price. Starting from just £10,495 RRP ‘on the road’*, the package includes 15" Avus II alloy wheels; a CD player; remote control locking and alarm; air conditioning; and electric windows and door mirrors.

All special editions are subject to availability and for a limited time only at participating retailers.
