Employees at Volkswagen Communications have attempted an unofficial world record to seat 15 women and one man into the Volkswagen up.
With two in the boot, one on the dashboard, seven on the rear bench, four on the front seats, two in the footwells – then the boot lid and doors were shut, and the windows were closed. The Volkswagen up measures 3.54 metres long and 1.64 metres wide and is one of the smallest four-seat cars.
At a Volkswagen meet in Australia, 17 people managed to fit inside a Volkswagen Beetle. In 2010, 20 people achieved a Guinness World Record before in 2001, 27 students in the USA fitted themselves into a new Volkswagen Beetle.
