Volkswagen Tiguan Match (2013)

The Volkswagen Tiguan Match replaces the Tiguan SE but is £450 cheaper and adds £700 worth of extra equipment, with prices starting from £23,245.

The new VW Tiguan Match is available with a wide range of engine and transmissions, from a two-wheel drive 1.4-litre TSI 160 PS petrol to a four-wheel drive 2.0-litre TDI 177 PS turbodiesel, with CO2 emissions of 139 g/km.

The rear seats fold on split 60:40 basis to increase luggage capacity from 470 to 1,510 litres. The rear seats can be moved lengthways, to increase luggage space or legroom as required by up to 16 cm, while the backrest angles can be adjusted by 23 degrees. The front passenger seat backrest can also be folded forwards, to create a load space that is up to 2.5 metres long.

Standard equipment includes dual climate control, front and rear parking sensors with Park Assist self-parking system.  This takes control of the steering wheel to either reverse- or parallel-park the Tiguan into parking spaces just 1.1 m longer than the vehicle. Bluetooth connectivity is standard, as well as an MDI media interface with leads for iPhone (4 and earlier) and USB, while there’s also a CD/DVD player, SD card provision and a DAB digital radio.  A multifunction steering wheel (trimmed in leather, just like the gear lever and handbrake) enables operation without taking your hands from the wheel.
