Volkswagen is launching an internet microsite for the hotly-anticipated Tiguan, allowing a web-based audience access to exclusive images and information three months ahead of the compact 4x4’s public world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year.

Registering at www.volkswagen.co.uk/tiguan will allow users entry to the ‘Tiguan Base’ site.  Set to feature images of the car’s final shape when it’s unveiled in June, the site will expand in the lead up to launch with information and insights into the development of the vehicle.

Concept Tiguan made its debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show last year.  Powered
by a BlueTec diesel engine, Concept Tiguan is fitted with an advanced nitrogen oxide trap converter designed to reduce the oxides emitted by up to 90 per cent over current diesel units.  Eye-catching details include a unique set of 19-inch Continental tyres complete with interwoven orange tread and a bespoke interior featuring distressed leather detailing.  Measuring 4.4 metres in length, 1.85 m in width and a compact
1.6 m high the Concept Tiguan is similar in size to the Touran compact MPV.

The Tiguan name was the result of a poll of more than 350,000 readers of magazines in the AutoBild group.

Sales of the Tiguan in the UK are expected to start in 2008 with prices and specifications being announced nearer the time.
