The new Volkswagen Golf SV has been award five-stars (the maximum rating) in the latest independent Euro NCAP tests.
It scored 87% for Adult Occupancy, 85% for Child Occupant, Pedestrian protection 62% and for Safety Assist 73%. This compares to the Citroen C4 Picasso which in 2013, also scored five-stars, 86% Adult, 88% Child, Pedestrian 68%and Safety Assist 81%.
The Volkswagen Golf SV is equipped with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), including ABS with Brake Assist, XDS+ electronic differential lock and Multi Collision Brake as standard. There is a driver knee airbag and a head airbag system for front and rear-seat passengers, including side airbags. Driver and front-seat passenger with front-seat passenger deactivation. Plus there is a tyre pressure indicator, trailer stabilisation, ISOFIX child seat anchors on the back bench seat.
Safety options include, ACC Adaptive Distance Control and Front Assist surroundings monitoring system, including City Emergency Braking function, Lane Assist, a proactive occupant protection system and the Light Assist and Dynamic Light Assist full beam control systems. Blind spot monitoring with Rear Traffic Alert can also be selected as an option.
