Volkswagen Scirocco Prices and Specifications (MY-2015)

The face lifted Volkswagen Scirocco has gone on sale priced from £20,455 for the entry level 1.4-litre TSI 125 PS manual, rising to £33,795 for the 2.0-litre TSI 280 PS Scirocco R.

Revisions include new head and LED tail lights, with new bumpers featuring aerodynamic ‘blades’ in the outer section, similar to the Golf GTI, with integrated indicator lights, daytime running lights and fog lights.  On models with (optional) bi-xenon headlights, the daytime running lights are LEDs within the main headlights.

There are new alloy wheel designs across the range include new 19-inch ‘Cadiz’ alloys for the Scirocco R model.

The dashboard has been revised with new dials and a retro inspired auxiliary instrument cluster above the centre console, consisting of chronometer, charge pressure and oil temperature gauges, like the first generation 1970’s Scirocco.

Volkswagen Scirocco Engine Line-Up (MY-2015)

There is a choice of six new turbocharged direct-injection petrol and diesel engines, all of which meet EU6 emissions. Excluding the ‘R’ edition all are equipped with BlueMotion Stop/Start and brake energy recuperation systems.

The petrol engine line-up comprises 1.4-litre petrol with 125 PS and a 2.0-litre 180 PS unit that is more efficient than the 1.4-litre 160 PS unit it replaces. The old 2.0-litre TSI 210 PS has been replaced with a 2.0-litre 220 PS TSI engine. The new Scirocco R is now powered by a 2.0-litre unit producing 280 PS which is 15 PS up on the old model. 

There are two diesel engines, both are 2.0-litre units with the choice of 150 PS or 184PS.

There is a choice of a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed DSG gearbox on all but the 1.4 TSI which comes with a six-manual box.

Volkswagen Scirocco Trim Levels (MY-2015)

There are four trim levels, ‘Scirocco’, ‘GT’, ‘R-Line’ and the top of the range ‘R’ edition.

Volkswagen Scirocco (£20,455 - £24,675)

The entry level model is simply entitled Scirocco and is equipped with RCD 510 touchscreen infotainment system with DAB digital radio with six-disc CD changer, SD card reader, MDI iPod and USB audio connectors and Bluetooth; air conditioning; automatic headlights and wipers; an auto-dimming rear view mirror; 17-inch ‘Long Beach’ alloy wheels height-adjustable sports seats; and a multifunction leather-covered steering wheel (with paddle shifts on DSG models).

Volkswagen Scirocco GT (£22,305 - £27,525)

The GT adds RNS 315 touchscreen navigation system; 2Zone climate control; dark-tinted rear windows; 18-inch ‘Interlagos’ alloy wheels; front fog lights; front and rear parking sensors; a black roof lining; ‘chequered flag’ dash inserts and aluminium-look pedals and cloth and Alcantara upholstery.

Volkswagen Scirocco R-Line (£27,840 - £29,520)

The R-Line features bespoke R-Line bumpers and side skirts; 19-inch ‘Talladega’ alloy wheels; R-Line scuff plates; an R-Line-specific steering wheel, handbrake and gear lever; ‘carbon-look’ dash inserts; and heated, electrically adjustable ‘Vienna’ leather sports seats.

Volkswagen Scirocco R (£32,295 - £33,795)

The ‘R’ edition comes with its own exterior styling kit; chrome-look door mirror caps; bi-xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights; 19-inch ‘Cadiz’ alloy wheels; R-specific sports seats; 10 mm lower sports suspension; DCC dynamic chassis control; and a colour multifunction trip computer.
