In the first four months of 2011, Volkswagen passenger car deliveries have reached 1.66 million units, compared to 1.49 million during the same period last year.
A total of 429,200 vehicles were deliverd to customers in April 2011. "Deliveries by the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand continue to develop well. Our attractive, eco-friendly model range is being well received by our customers all over the world," Christian Klingler, Board Member for Sales and Marketing for the Volkswagen Group and the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand, commented.
Deliveries in Europe saw 567,100 units during the first four months, up from 547,000 during the same period in 2010, a rise of 3.7 per cent. In central and Eastern Europe, 53,900 units were delivered in the period. Deliveries in Russia almost doubled, with over 24,900 units - compared to 12,800 during 2010.
