Volkswagen has improved the value of its Phaeton luxury saloon with a more attractive entry-level price (at participating retailers), while at the same time upgrading the vehicle’s standard specification.
All Phaeton models are now fitted with a navigation/radio system with 7" colour screen as standard, making long journeys in Volkswagen’s flagship luxury car an even more relaxing experience.
In addition, all Phaetons now benefit from the standard fitment of ultrasonic parking sensors, which operate at both the front and rear of the vehicle. This technology makes parking, as well as navigating crowded environments such as city streets, far more reassuring.
Both features have been added at no extra cost, representing a customer saving of £2,300 including VAT, and adding further to the comprehensive list of equipment included on every Phaeton. This includes: 4Zone electronic climate control; six-disc CD autochanger; leather upholstery; CDC (Continuous Damping Control) suspension; cruise control; 12-way adjustable electric front seats; and Xenon headlights.
In addition, at participating Volkswagen Luxury Car retailers, the recently launched Phaeton 3.0 V6 TDI 4MOTION is available at a recommended retail price of £36,995 on the road, compared with its usual RRP of £41,490 on the road. This makes this advanced TDI diesel model even more attractive to cost-conscious luxury car buyers.
At the top of the range, the Phaeton 6.0-litre W12 4MOTION has received a power increase from 420 PS to 450 PS. Maximum torque is also boosted from 406 lbs ft (at 3,000 rpm to 4,700 rpm) to 413 lbs ft, developed over an even broader engine speed range from 2,750 rpm to 5,200 rpm.
Both the 5.0-litre V10 4MOTION and 6.0-litre W12 4MOTION models also now benefit from a new design of standard-fit alloy wheels - 8.5J x 18 ‘Innovation’ alloy wheels with 225/45 R18 tyres and anti-theft wheel bolts.
The Phaeton, along with the Touareg 4x4, represents Volkswagen in the luxury class, and is one of the world’s most advanced and capable large luxury saloons. The vehicle was designed to set benchmark standards in its sector, surpassing its key competitors in several areas. The car is offered with a choice of standard or long wheelbases; four-and five-seat versions, and with a comprehensive range of engines including two highly advanced diesels - the 3.0-litre V6 TDI 225 PS and the exceptional and award-winning 5.0-litre V10 TDI 313 PS.
