Volkswagen has expanded the petrol line-up of the new Passat Saloon and Estate with the arrival of the 3.2-litre V6 250 PS engine. Available now to order, the most powerful engine in the range is coupled with the 6-speed DSG gearbox and features the 4MOTION four-wheel drive system as standard.
The 3189 cc FSI engine features innovative direct injection technology, where the fuel is injected into the combustion chamber under high pressure, resulting in impressive power and economy even at low revs. With the 3.2-litre V6 engine, the Passat accelerates from 0-62 mph in 6.9 seconds in the saloon, and 7.2 seconds in the estate, to reach a top speed of 153 mph and 151 mph respectively.
The new models are available in Sport and SEL trim levels, and receive additional items of standard specification, including 17" alloy wheels and a tyre pressure monitor. Chrome-plated roof rails and stainless steel load sill protection are fitted as standard on the Passat Estate Sport model, while the SEL models, on both the saloon and estate, feature a full size alloy spare wheel.
