The New Volkswagen Golf R-Line (MY-2015)

Volkswagen has announced that the order books are now open for the new Golf R-Line with first deliveries arriving in March 2015.

There are two engines available a 1.4-litre TSI petrol which delivers 150 PS between 4,500 and 6,000 rpm, returns 60.1mpg combined, will reach 0-62mph in 8.2 seconds and has a top speed of 134mph. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard and a seven-speed DSG is available as an option.

The 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine delivers 150 PS and returns 68.9mpg on the combined cycle, C02 emissions range from 106 to 119 g/km. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard with a six-speed DSG available as an option.

Specification includes lowered sports suspension, PreCrash preventive occupant protection, Discover Satellite Navigation. The R-Line trim adds sporty design cues for an extra £995.

R-Line styling includes R-Line rear spoiler, side skirts, radiator grille, air intakes, R-Line front bumpers, fog lights, R-Line rear bumper and 17” Singapore alloy wheels.

Interior trim includes stainless steel pedals and front door sills, black lead grey inlays and door trims, Sports Race design front seats with R-Line logo, black headlining, leather gear knob and gear lever gaiter and R-Line leather steering wheel.

Prices range from £24,190 for the 1.4-litre 3-door 6-speed manual and rise to £26,765 for the 2.0-litre TDI 5-door model.
