Volkswagen Golf Plus

The Volkswagen Golf Plus has received a specification boost and now has a new entry-level trim, the Luna. Designed to offer customers better value for money, these equipment enhancements come at no extra cost.

Replacing the S model, the Luna is now the entry-level model in the Golf Plus line-up. It features all the items of specification of the S model - including ABS with HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assist), ESP (Electronic Stabilisation Programme), twin front and side airbags plus a curtain airbag system, Climatic semi-automatic air conditioning and a radio/CD player - but also adds the following list of additional equipment.

Externally, the Luna gains 15" ‘Misano’ alloy wheels and body-coloured bumper strips and door handles; while inside it adds a tray areas package (comprising folding luggage compartment with net, boot floor net and extended roof console); variable boot floor; front centre armrest; rear multi-function storage box with centre armrest; and a convenience pack (comprising coming home lighting function with automatic headlights on; automatic dimming rear view mirror; rain sensor; and footwell illumination).

Some of these items were not previously available as options, but the total value of these additions is around £800. The Luna however costs the same as the outgoing S model, starting at £12,995 RRP ‘on the road’ for the 1.4-litre 75 PS.

Moving up the range, and on top of the equipment now standard on the Luna, the SE now gains a leather-trimmed steering wheel, gearknob and handbrake grip and 16" ‘Hockenheim’ alloy wheels. These wheels alone would have cost £320, yet SE prices still start at £15,835. Sport and GT trim levels remain as before, offering customers excellent value for money.

The revised Golf Plus range is available to order now. Volkswagen Retailers can provide a service to customers interested in purchasing with finance through the financial services arm of the Volkswagen Group, Volkswagen Finance*. Around 80 per cent of new cars are now bought with some form of finance or borrowing. Volkswagen Finance supports the Retailer network with a range of finance and insurance products including its flexible personal contract plan, Solutions. Such plans could ensure that a customer gets more Volkswagen for their motoring budget.
