There are plenty of reasons to be gloomy about the state of the economy. But there are also some reasons to celebrate. And with the new registration plate upon us, now is really a very good time to buy a car.
Excellent value for money deals are on offer throughout the Volkswagen Retailer network, and a wide variety of competitive finance packages are also available via Volkswagen Financial Services.
Graham Wheeler, Head of Volkswagen Financial Services explains: "The recent changes in the Bank of England base rate mean that there are over three million tracker mortgage customers who will be up to £260 per month better off. While we acknowledge that some bills will have gone up, with £260 a month spare, this could equate to a nice new car. The new Golf, for example, which was launched in January is available on Volkswagen Solutions (PCP) with monthly payments of £199."
Wheeler adds: "We're constantly reminded of the 'credit crunch' and many banks nowadays are unwilling to lend customers money to finance a depreciating asset such as a car. But we are experts in motor vehicle finance. It's what we do and what we've always done. We know the risks and we manage them."
Another key trend in the markets is a major fall-off in consumer confidence, with potential customers being put off making a major purchase due to fears over unemployment and 'scare-mongering' in the press.
"As long as customers are sensible in managing their finances, there's no reason why they should fear making a big purchase in what are seen as troubled times,"explains Wheeler. "People with a stable job, for example, in the public sector and whose mortgage payments which may well have recently gone down, should take advantage of the economic climate and seize the chance to buy."
Volkswagen Finance also has a wide range of products to ensure customers get the most for their motoring budget. These include insurance and fixed price service and maintenance plans, as well as items such as Payment Protection which all offer peace of mind and certainty in uncertain times.
