The all-electric Volkswagen e-up! will be available to order later this year with the first deliveries expected in the UK in early 2014.
The VW e-up! is powered by a 60 kW/82PS electric motor with continuous power of 40 kW / 55 PS and is capable of 0-62 mph in just under 14 seconds with a top speed of circa 85 mph.
The four-seater Volkswagen e-up! has a range of up to 93 miles from its 18.7 kWh lithium-ion battery which is integrated under the floor. It supports both DC and AC charging, so that drivers can easily charge their cars at most charging stations – regardless of the power sources or charging rates that they offer. It is claimed depending on the charging station that the e-up! can charged to 80 per cent of its energy storage within just 30 minutes.
The Volkswagen e-up! will come with LED day time running lights and 15-inch alloy wheels. To distinguish ‘electric power’ the VW emblems will feature blue backgrounds and an e-up! logo at the rear. The interior features e-up! light-grey seat covers with blue top-stitched seams and special leather and chrome accents.
Currently we do not have UK prices or information on the battery, or if the e-up! will be available to lease only or purchase outright.
