As of 1st August 2011, Luc Donckerwolke, aged 46, will become the Head of Advanced Design at the Volkswagen Group. He will report directly to Design Chief Walter de Silva. Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos will replace Donckerwolke as Director of Design at SEAT.
Luc Donckerwolke joined the Volkswagen Group in 1992, have studied industrial engineering and transportation design. He first started as an exterior designer at Audi before he moved to Skoda in 1994, where he took charge of coordinating exterior design. He then returned to Audi in 1996 to head the exterior design department at the Munich design studio, where he became studio director in Ingolstadt. In 1998, he joined the Lamborghini brand as design project manager, and in 2003 was appointed as Head of Design at Lamborghini in 2003 before becoming Director of Design at SEAT in 2005.
