Vauxhall have introduced a petrol 200PS GTC to the Astra range priced from £20,995.
The 1.6-litre direct injection ECOTEC petrol engine as seen in the Cascada convertible is now available for the Astra GTC - it outputs 200PS and 300 Nm of torque which equates to a 0-60 mph time of 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 143 mph, making it the fastest non-VXR model in the pack.
Compared to the previous 1.6-litre petrol turbo peak power is up by 30 per cent yet fuel consumption is 51 mpg on the combined cycle (NEDC) with CO2 emissions of 154 g/km.
The Astra GTC range is now available with Intellilink infotainment system, which offers satellite navigation, voice control, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, picture viewer and Gracenote album art, all via its high-resolution 7-inch touchscreen display for £855.
Plus the top-of-the-range Navi 950 IntelliLink contains Europe-wide street level mapping with updates easily downloadable via USB. Drivers can also have incoming text messages read out to them, as well as integrating their smartphones own voice recognition functions.
Vauxhall Astra GTCs with the new engine and Intellilink are available to order now with first deliveries expected in the spring of 2014.
