Vauxhall are now offering private buyer’s of their hybrid Ampera Positiv and Electron models, 3 years/60,000 miles free servicing and a £2,000 fuel contribution. Other benefits include a Type-2 charging cable which can be used at the majority of public charging points and a £335 allowance towards a domestic home charging installation.
The hybrid Ampera has a realistic range of between 25 and 50 miles under pure electric power, when the battery runs out of charge, a petrol engine takes over to power the car’s electric motor.
Vauxhall Ampera prices start at £29,995 (including £5,000 Government grant) for the entry-level Earth model which is not available with the 3 years/60,000 miles free servicing and a £2,000 fuel contribution offer. The Ampera is covered by Vauxhall’s ‘Lifetime Warranty’ (not transferable) with the battery covered by an 8 year/100,000 mile warranty.
If you are interested in testing the Ampera then currently there is a 3-day test drive programme available through the UK’s 24 specialist Vauxhall Ampera dealers, all you pay is for the fuel used.
