Wakefield-based finance company, J & R Naylor, has just completed an order that will add 153 Vauxhall vehicles to its 250-strong fleet. The new additions, which started arriving at the company's head office this month, comprise a range of different models, many of them efficient ecoFLEX derivatives.

"This is a significant order for us," said Shaun Tranter, of J & R Naylor. "We wanted to be certain that our new vehicles would accommodate the different needs of the staff that will be using them. The Vauxhall team offered us a great selection of products all of which achieved low CO2 emissions without compromising performance for the driver."

J & R Naylor, a family-run business established over 30 years ago, provides loans and short-term underwriting facilities to customers, as well as operating home collections. The company, which employs around 250 people, will allocate the vehicles to its team of home collection agents, managers, sales and audit staff.

The majority of the order will comprise the Vauxhall Astra and Vauxhall Insignia models, but will also include the Vauxhall Corsa and Vauxhall Meriva. The bulk of the British-built Vauxhall Astras ordered were 1.7CDTi 110PS models, which have CO2 emissions of just 119g/km. The Vauxhall Insignias were mainly 2.0CDTi 160PS ecoFLEXs, with CO2 emissions of 129g/km.

"Low emissions were a key consideration for us," said Shaun. "The idea of selecting these cars was to reduce the whole life cost to our company, and Vauxhall's ecoFLEX models offer improved fuel consumption and reduced NI contributions. Drivers will also benefit from a drop in Benefit in Kind tax.

"In addition, Vauxhall also offered us a lifetime warranty on every car plus extended AA cover, which again is very valuable for us, as some of the vehicles will cover a lot of miles. The support that Vauxhall's fleet team offered us formed a key part of our decision to deal with them."

When the order was placed, Shaun specified several options on the new fleet cars. "Many of our staff are out on the road for much of their working days so ensuring that their cars are comfortable and well-equipped was important. I ordered Bluetooth on all of the models as well as built-in SatNav. Many of the new cars are also coming with VXR style packs."

Company image was also important to Shaun when placing the order with Vauxhall. "We are a friendly, family-run company with a good reputation in the area," he said. "Many of our family members work within the company and are involved in company decision-making. We want our vehicles to reflect our company values. We need a smart and consistent vehicle fleet that will portray a friendly and professional image to our customers."

"This is our first order through Vauxhall, and we're very pleased," Shaun concluded. "We have other makes and models forming the rest of our fleet, and have been placing orders with one particular manufacturer for over 10 years, so this was a significant change for us - but one we are happy to be making."
