The new Toyota Yaris has gone on sale priced from £10,995 for the entry level 1.0 VVT-i 3dr Active model. The first of the new cars are expected to be delivered during August 2014.
The new Yaris range is defined by four trim levels - ‘Active’, ‘Icon’, ‘Sport’ and ‘Excel’.
The Yaris Hybrid is available in two grades, ‘Icon’ and ‘Excel’.
Core equipment includes electric front windows, 6-speaker audio system with USB and AUX-in, 7 airbags, tyre pressure monitor and Vehicle Stability Control with traction control.
The Icon adds 15” alloy wheels, front fog and projector lights, Toyota Touch 2, rear reversing camera, air conditioning / climate on Hybrid model, Bluetooth connectivity and leather steering wheel.
The Sport gains, 16” alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, rear LED lights, DAB radio tuner, rear privacy glass and rear disc brakes.
The Excel takes the Icon specification and adds 16” alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, rear LED lights, DAB radio tuner, part-leather, cruise control, rain sensitive wipers, auto on lights and climate control.
Toyota Touch 2 is a new version of Toyota’s touchscreen multimedia system with a new, higher resolution seven-inch display. It comprises Bluetooth for hands-free phone calls, sending and receipt of text messages and audio streaming; a rear-view camera; vehicle information, including trip data, climate control profile; and management of settings for door locking and lighting. The system is MirrorLink-ready, allowing users to connect compatible smartphones and operate them entirely using the touchscreen.
The Toyota Touch 2 with Go (£650 option) adds navigation, connected services and access to a range of useful applications, including Toyota Real Time Traffic and services such as fuel prices, weather and parking information.
The paint palette extends to ten exterior colours, including new Island Blue metallic and exclusive to the Hybrid models, Avantgarde Bronze.
You can add a number of options to the Yaris range, including a new range of option packs, for example for £700 you can add the ‘Protection Pack’ (for Icon, Sport and Excel) which adds mud flaps, rear bumper protection, front and rear parking sensors and carpet mats; the Style Pack at £500 (Icon and Sport) provides aluminium scuff plates and bumper protection plate and a chrome finish for the door sills, boot and diffuser trims and tailpipe). Icon models can be fitted with the Design Pack for £395 which adds LED daytime running lights and rear light clusters, plus rear privacy glass.
The Excel edition can be specified with the £795 Appearance Pack which adds a rear spoiler, rear privacy glass and a Skyview (fixed) panoramic roof, and the £550 Smart Pack offers Smart Entry, push-button start (standard on Hybrid Excel) and an auto-folding function for the door mirrors.
