Toyota Winter Tyre Programme
Toyota Winter Tyre Programme

Toyota is taking steps to help customers make journeys safer and reduce the risk of accidents when temperatures fall by introducing a winter tyre programme.

Winter tyres have been specifically developed using a different rubber compound to remain flexible and offer better grip in lower temperatures as well as in snow and ice.

Independent tests by the British Tyre Manufacturers Association shows that a car can be stopped 11 metres earlier on icy road and eight metres on a snow covered road at from 20mph.

Toyota is able to provide winter tyres for current and past Toyota and Lexus models including the Toyota Prius, Auris Hybrid and Lexus CT 200h.

By using Toyota Centres, owners can opt to have their standard tyres stored at the centre until the spring.

Steve Settle, Toyota Director Customer Services, said: "Safety is of paramount importance and we have designed our winter tyre programme to give our customers the means to maintain their vehicle’s performance when driving conditions are at their worst. By working with Yokohama and Stapletons as our partners, we are also delivering the quality products and customer service they expect from Toyota."
