The hybrid Toyota Prius has been given a 2012 face lift with the revised model going on sale in UK in March 2012, with prices from - 21,350
Toyota has sold 20,000 Prius since its launch in 2009, the new model in the third generation.
For 2012 there is a new-look nose and the interior materials have been upgraded – the steering, ride and overall vehicle dynamics have been sharpened There are now eight exterior colours, including new Dark Blue and Cabernet Red metallic. The styling changes add an extra 20mm the car’s length, but Prius’s wheelbase and its highly efficient aerodynamic performance (Cd 0.25) are unchanged.
Depending on the wheel size option the Prius emits 89g/km CO2 emissions and according to Toyota a combined cycle fuel economy of 72.4 mpg (the figures for models running on 17-inch wheels remain 92 g/km and 70.6 mpg).
The Prius is available in three trim levels – T3 & T4 and T Sprint – standard on all models is the Toyota Touch touch screen control system, the T Sprint has navigation and Bluetooth, a rear-view camera, USB port and an on-board connectivity feature that allows access to a raft of on-line information services sourced through Google Local Search using a compatible mobile phone. The T Sprint has LED headlamps in addition to across the range LED day time running lights.
Later in the year Prius family will expand with the introduction of the Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid and Prius+, the world’s first seven-seat full hybrid MPV.
