The revised Toyota Prius+ seven-seater has been announced, the first major revision since its launch in 2012 - changes include a new colour palette, styling and equipment levels.
Toyota is promising an improved ride and with sharper handling by making modifications to the suspension. They have also introduced better sound deadening to help with noise intrusion.
On the outside there is a new front grille with bumper modifications, full LED headlights with LED day time running lights and new rear lighting. Two new colours join the line-up in Europe, Dark Sherry metallic and Attitude Black mica, Toyota have yet to confirm if these will be available in the UK.
Revisions to the interior include new chrome finishers on door handles, a dark silver metallic finish for the switchgear and air conditioning controls. There is a new 4.2” TFT screen operated from the steering wheel which relays information on the hybrid system (now EURO 6 compliant), fuel consumption, time, audio and air conditioning.
The interior sees the MY-2015 Prius+ is fitted with the Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system with Bluetooth connectivity and a reversing camera. There is the option of Toyota Touch 2 with Go which adds satellite navigation with live traffic information and 3D city mapping.
Safety equipment now includes emergency brake signalling that switches on the side indicators when braking hard.
Toyota has yet to confirm a launch date, full specifications or prices which will be released near the on sale date.
