Suzuki Announce Enhancements For Its 1.3 Litre Wagon R+ For 2003

The latest version of Suzuki's highly popular Wagon R+ GL has been substantially enhanced for the 2003 model year by the addition of a variety of new features which will broaden, even further, its appeal to UK car buyers.

The additions to this model, now available from all 150 UK dealers, include:

• An increase in seating capacity from four to five with the addition of a 3-point ELR seatbelt and centrally located third head restraint for the rear seat
• A new 'solid-type' hinged and removable rear parcel shelf to enclose the luggage compartment
• The incorporation of new 'clear lens' headlamps to further improve the car's distinctive, rounded front end appearance
• Stylish all new upholstery fabrics, which are colour matched to co-ordinate with the exterior paintwork and add to the appeal of the car's interior
• Two side pockets - for stowage of small or fragile items are now incorporated in the luggage compartment - expanding the versatiliy of the spacious interior
• A new tailgate opening handle - incorporating the locking mechanism - now distinguishes the rear of the 2003 Wagon R+ GL from its predecessor
• Two distinctive all new metallic colours - sapphire blue and turquoise green - are introduced bringing to five the exterior finishes available

Delivered* prices for the 2003 model year Wagon R+ GL remain unchanged at £7,975 for the 5-speed manual and £8,770 for the 4-speed automatic.

Wagon R+ is one of Suzuki's best selling models, worldwide. In the UK alone more than 22,000 have been sold since its launch in its original form in Europe in 1997.

Wagon R+ is the European version of Wagon R, another unique, trend setting model from Suzuki.

First launched in the Japanese domestic market in 1993 Wagon R soon became one of that Country's best selling cars, a position it has retained ever since.

Longer and wider than the original Japanese domestic market model, but still just 11ft 4ins (3,500mm) in length and 5ft 3ins (1,620mm) in width, the latest generation Wagon R+ takes up very little room on the road or when parked, yet it offers a spacious, easy to use interior and the feeling of a car that is much bigger on the inside than it is on the outside.
