A substantially enhanced range of Grand Vitara Estates, expanded to include diesel-engined 3-door and XL-7 models, is announced this month [April, 2003] by Suzuki. All of the new models -apart from the new diesels**, which will be available in July and August, 2003, respectively - are now on display at all of Suzuki's 150 UK dealerships.
**Prices and specifications will be announced shortly before their launchThe major focus of the improvements, which are incorporated right across the Estate Car range, relate to a totally comprehensive and thorough redesign of the interior, controls and instrumentation and an enhanced specification which includes latest generation ABS with EBD for most models; air conditioning for the 5-door 2-litre petrol and diesel engined vehicles and electronic climate control for the XL-7 plus separate rear air conditioning in the seven seater.
All New InteriorsInterior furnishings, the design of the seats and their new 'doughnut' type detachable head restraints, all instrumentation and the 'in car' entertainment systems have been substantially improved in order to provide class leading levels of quality, style, comfort, durability and ease of use.
All new, Clear and Easy to Read InstrumentationAhead of the driver a large, contoured panel contains the speedometer, tachometer, fuel and engine temperature gauges, an array of warning lamps including low fuel and door open reminders and, on automatic models, a gear position indicator.
The panel is faced with a semi-opaque screen and the instruments - which are surrounded by metallic trim and are back lit by fibre optics to reduce eye fatigue and for great clarity - become instantly visible as soon as the ignition is switched on.
A new 'easy grip' steering wheel which is tilt adjustable and incorporates fingertip switches for lights, indicators, front and rear windscreen washers, wipers and the mode and volume of the radio and CD player which is integrated at the top of the front centre console and has large, simple to use controls, all within easy reach of both the driver and front seat passenger.
