The fish may be jumpin’ and the cotton high, but Suzuki believes the summer months should be a time for relaxing, and certainly no time to be overly burdened with financial outlay. What could be better therefore than some great new savings on selected models that should go some way to help pay for those little holiday extras.
On the Grand Vitara 3-door SUV, it happens to be quite a substantial saving: £2000 in fact, which brings the price down to £9999 on-the-road. There’s also a choice of either 1.6 litre petrol or 2.0 litre turbo engines for smooth and effortless performance.
Customers preferring a little more space and flexibility can opt for the bigger Grand Vitara 5-door or the even bigger XL-7; both are available on 0 per cent finance over four years. That’s 48 monthly payments of £199, a deposit of £5447 and a total price of £14,999 for the 5-door 2.0 16v and the same monthly payments, a deposit of £8447 and a total price of £17,999 for the XL-7 2.0 TDI 5-seater, as typical examples.
Purchases must be made by 30 September, but while the offers are limited, the Grand Vitara range most certainly isn’t. Beneath the stylish lines are a stiff ladder frame chassis and a four-wheel drive system proven in some of the most hostile terrain on earth.
And why should 4WD be a privilege to be enjoyed by SUV owners only? The Ignis 1.5 GLX 4Grip is a unique supermini designed around the concept that extra traction is available when you need it most - on slippery roads - and given an average British summer, that could be at any time, global warming or no global warming. Its full-time 4WD and variable valve timing 99 PS 1.5 litre engine are now available with a tempting 0 per cent finance offer over four years, which translates into 48 monthly payments of £134 after a deposit of £3267, for a total price of £9699 on-the-road.
And finally, the compact and frugal Suzuki Alto 5-door hatchback is now matched by an equally compact finance offer of just £99 per month*. Or, Alto ownership is possible for a cash price of just £4999, and for that you get a specification that includes dual front airbags, ABS, power steering, central locking and a CD player. With a combined consumption figure of just 57.6 mpg, the Alto represents low budget motoring at its best.
Suzuki dealers are running these summer temptations until 30 September.
