Subaru customers looking for a genuine UK-market used car now have a wide choice thanks to Subaru UK placing its used vehicles on the Auto Trader website.
And so popular has the pilot programme been that one third of Subaru’s 90 dealers have already signed up for the scheme which links their stock to the site.
Subaru is one of only a handful of brands to use the Auto Trader site – the UK’s biggest electronic vehicle locator. Most vehicles are advertised on the web by large dealer groups or smaller traders.
"We believe this gives us a distinct advantage as it distances our cars from dubious ‘grey’ imports and cars of uncertain history," said Subaru National Fleet and Used Car Manager, Harvey France.
He added: "It also provides a fantastic selection for customers – some of whom may have been initially browsing the site by looking at several marques.
"It is a great opportunity for our dealer network and provides a link for them to sell finance and insurance plus our ‘Proven’ officially-backed used car warranty with its data check and 30 day exchange plan."
Since Subaru began the pilot programme in March with a small number of dealers the scheme has grown extensively and is currently registering 450,000 views per month.
Now, Subaru dealers are actively requesting to be included on the Auto Trader site which they see as complementary to Subaru’s own bespoke site with officially approved used vehicles.
Another advantage is that anyone entering the Auto Trader site is presented with a special Subaru page with branded ‘pop-up’, making it easy to use.
In addition, all data and stock lists are quality checked and updated every night, ensuring the used car information is as fresh as possible.
