The Subaru Outback which goes on sale in the spring of 2015 has scored a full five stars in the latest Euro NCAP testing. The result breaks down into 85% adult occupancy, 87% child occupancy, 70% pedestrian protection and 73% for safety assist.

This compares to the comparable Volvo V60, which also scored five-stars, broken down into 94% for adult occupancy, 82% child occupancy, 64% pedestrian, and the full 100% for safety assist.

The new all-wheel-drive Outback will feature Subaru's 'EyeSight' autonomous braking system that incorporates advanced stereo cameras to provide multiple driver assist features.  Other standard safety equipment will include VDC (Vehicle Dynamics Control) and front, knee, side and curtain airbags.
