Subaru Outback Diesel Automatic (2013)

The new Subaru Outback diesel is now available with an automatic transmission, with range being updated for 2014.

Subaru for the first time have combined their 2.0-litre Boxer diesel engine with a Lineartronic CVT (continuously variable transmission). On the official NEDC combined cycle it is capable of 44.8 mpg with CO2 emissions of 166 g/km.

For 2014 there will be a new Subaru Outback 2.0D Lineartronic variant which will feature a new trim level, the SX. Standard equipment includes dual-zone automatic air-conditioning, Bluetooth hands-free system, and an audio system with USB connectivity and a VGA centre display with rear vision camera. There are heated front sports seats, with a leather-trimmed steering wheel featuring audio and cruise control functions. Plus front fog lights, pop-up headlight washers, heated mirrors, rear window defogger with timer, front and side window defrosters, and a windscreen wiper de-icer function.

The whole of the 2014 Outback model range has been face-lifted with new body-coloured cladding replacing black plastic trim. There are larger fog lamps with new gunmetal alloy wheels as standard. There are two new exterior colours to choose from ‘Deep Sea Blue Pearl ‘and ‘Dark Grey Metallic’. -The interior gains a new liquid crystal instrument cluster display and black metallic panels replace dated trim. There are new speedometer and rev counter dials featured in the upgraded instrument binnacle, while a one-touch lane change facility has also been added which activates the indicators to flash three times.

The suspension has been re-worked to improve the ride and handling, results in sharper responses and improved on-board comfort for all.
