The all-new Subaru Forester is set to go on sale in the summer of 2013.
Although details are sketchy at the moment, we do know the fourth generation Forester will feature either a 150 ps 2.0 litre petrol or 150 ps diesel boxer four cylinder engine with a turbo-charged 280 ps petrol engine at some point in the future.
The new Forester is promising better fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions, whist retaining Subaru’s unique Symmetrical AWD (All-Wheel Drive) system.
There will be the option of a six speed manual transmission or a ‘CVT’ Lineartronic box for those who prefer to keep both hands on the wheel.
The driving dynamics have been improved offering better handling and refinement. In cabin noise has been reduced and the ride has been revised.
Getting in and out should be easier with wider opening doors and lower sills. There will be better cargo carrying potential with the option of a power operated tailgate.
Subaru is also promising a better quality interior with soft-touch plastics and more interior space.
