Forester fans wanting the interior style of the XT turbo but at a lower price can now specify the limited-edition ‘S’ version.
Priced at just £150 more than the Forester 2.0 X ‘All Weather Pack’ on which it is based, the new ‘S’ will be limited to 240 manual and 60 automatics.
Costing £19,295 on-the-road, the Forester ‘S’ adds a three-spoke leather steering wheel and leather-covered gear lever, handbrake and dual-range shift-lever on the manual.
It also has the same sporty black seat trim as the XT and black carpets and black soft-touch door armrests.
Standard equipment is outstanding and includes automatic air-conditioning, a six-stacker CD player, large electric sunroof, alloy wheels, front fog lamps, cruise control, headlamp washers, front windscreen wiper de-icer and heated door mirrors.
Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel drive system is standard as is a rear limited-slip differential, self-levelling rear suspension and a full-size spare wheel.
Top speed for the manual is 112 mph with a 10.9 second 0-60 mph time, while the latest Forester records a petrol class-leading 42.2 mpg on the Extra Urban Cycle.
