The UK's premier snow sports event, the British Ski and Board Show, has teamed up with Subaru to deliver an adrenaline-filled event at Birmingham's NEC between Friday 29th and Sunday 31st October 2010.
Subaru has a long association with the snowsports community, and the company's range of All-Wheel Drive vehicles are already hugely popular with those driving down to snow-bound resorts across Europe.
It's expected that more than 20,000 people will visit the show over the three days. They'll have a busy time of it, with 130 winter sport businesses to check out contained within an 8,000 square metre area. The Japanese manufacturer's display will be in a prime location and is to feature a 2.5-litre Subaru Outback petrol, with its rugged crossover looks, and the extremely frugal Subaru Forester 2.0-litre diesel, with its theoretical range of 1,000km.
As well as being able to see these Subaru vehicles and all the latest ski and board gear up close, visitors to the show will also be able to take in the Big Air Freestyle Show, which features some of the world's top freestyle skiers and boarders performing the latest tricks; the Adventure Winter Film Festival, showcasing the finest adventure-packed movies from around the globe; the Skills Slope, where they can take free ski or board lessons (all equipment supplied); and the Ice Climbing Challenge, where brave souls can tackle the daunting faux-ice wall.
Another not-to-be-missed feature will be the Subaru Driving Tips for winter presentations, held in the Show's Talk Theatre on Friday 29th October 2010. Visitors are invited to join Sky Sports presenter, Richard Keys, as he guides them through the potential hazards of winter driving and shows them how to make their journey safe and comfortable.
Ski and Board Show organiser, John Cooper, said: "Subaru is a manufacturer long associated with winter sports and those who lead an active outdoor lifestyle, so we're delighted to have them on board. Skiers and boarders alike really value their vehicles' go-anywhere capability, fuel economy, generous practicality and superb comfort."
Subaru UK Marketing Director, Kenyon Neads, added: "Subaru is an ideal partner for the UK's premier snow sports fair. The Ski and Board Show is a fantastic day out for all the family and I'd like to invite all show goers to visit the Subaru stand and take a look at our rugged All-Wheel-Drive, ski-resort-friendly model line-up."
Show doors open at 12pm on Friday 29th October 2010, and at 10am on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st October 2010. Tickets cost from £7 per on the door and £6.50 in advance.
