The new SsangYong Tivoli SUV has been unveiled in Korea and will go on sale in the summer of 2015 in the UK. It will shown to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March for the first time.
The compact SUV has a footprint of 4,195mm (l) x 1,795 mm (w) x 1,590mm (h) - with a footprint of 2,600mm - it takes on the likes of Vauxhall’s Mokka, Nissan Juke and the Fiat 500x.
There will be a choice of either 1.6-litre 126PS petrol or 1.6-litre diesel power plants both of which are Euro 6 compliant. Although it is early days and UK spec Tivoli has to be confirmed, the 1.6-litre is available with either a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox. There will be the option of either front or four-wheel-drive.
As with KIA, the SsangYong Tivoli has three different steering modes - Normal, Comfort and Sport. The Tivoli uses electric power steering, and the modes allow for easy parking and perhaps more spirited motoring.
Tech will include smart key entry and locking, parking sensors, a high definition 7” informatics screen and reversing camera. Along with the usual auto-on headlights, wind-screen wipers, cruise control and electronic auto dipping mirror.
No official confirmation on pricing, but prices should start at around £12,500.
