The seven-seater Rodius has been given a new engine for 2013; it is now powered by SsangYong’s latest e-XDi diesel engine. The new 2-litre diesel unit produces 155ps with peak torque of 360Nm; on the official fuel combined cycle the consumption is recorded at 38.7 mpg.
The key benefit of the Rodius is its ability to carry seven adults with up to 875 litres of luggage, so it is ideal for airport taxi operators and large families, with the third rear row seats down you can carry 2,271 litres of cargo and four adult passengers.
SsangYong Rodius prices start at £15,995 for the ‘S’ model. Standard equipment across the range includes Electric front and rear windows, climate control and a Kenwood audio and Bluetooth system. Safety equipment comprises ABS, EBD, ESP and now ISOFIX child seat anchorages for the middle row.
The ‘ES’ trim gives you the option of a Mercedes-Benz five speed T-Tronic automatic transmission (£19,495) or a six speed manual unit (£17,995). Plus you gain heated leather front seats, 16 inch alloy wheels and rear privacy glass.
The top of the range ‘EX’ (£21,995) model adds on demand four wheel drive system with the ability to tow up to 2000 kg, which is only available with an automatic gearbox.
