Following a 70 per cent acquisition of SsangYong by Indian engineering conglomerate Mahindra & Mahindra - SsangYong has officially been re-launched in the UK.

Briefly there are three models in the current lineup: -

SsangYong Rexton – 7 Seater 4x4

The Mercedes Benz powered SsangYong Rexton starts £19,995 and is capable of towing 3.2 tonnes. Delivering 163bhp, it provides 340Nm of torque at 1,800rpm.  A torque on demand four wheel drive system is standard on all variants, distributing the pulling power to the axle that needs it most and ensuring the best possible traction at all times. When the going gets really tough the driver can select low ratio, which also splits the torque equally between front and rear axles to provide enough all round traction to be useful off road.

SsangYong Rodius - 7 Seater MPV

The Rodius MPV starts at £14,995 and interestingly the flagship EX model has an on demand four wheel drive system.  Which is perfect for towing and even has a low ratio option which delivers equal torque to all four wheels to tackle off road conditions.

SsangYong Korando - Crossover

The Korando starts at £16,995 and comes in either front wheel drive or four wheel drive formats. It goes directly against the Hyundai ix35 and Kia Sportage.

To show SsangYong’s confidence in the their new UK launch, all of their new vehicles are covered by a Five Year Unlimited Mileage warranty, which covers all major mechanical components including wheel bearings, suspension joints and bushes, steering joints, shock absorbers and even the audio system.
