Škoda sold 147 of their newest model, the Superb, in May, part of a total of 3,382 new Škodas sold during the month. This is an increase of 46.4 per cent over May 2001 and has resulted in a 1.6 per cent market share.
Superb sales were primarily of the Comfort 1.8T and 2.5 V6 TDI models. Priced at £17,500 the Superb Comfort 1.8T represents great value with its spacious interior and excellent equipment levels.
Fabia sales totalled 1,978, including 1,418 hatchbacks and 498 Estates, while Octavia sales of 1,256 included 793 hatchbacks and 463 Octavia Estates.
Year-to-date sales through May reached 17,190, a 14 per cent increase over the same period last year and well ahead of the total market increase of 8.2 per cent. In addition to Superb sales of 147 since its launch on 27 May, year-to-date sales include 10,069 Fabias and 6,967 Octavias.
