Skoda Auto introduced the new Octavia Estate at the international 2004 Paris Motor Show on 23 September 2004. The Skoda Octavia Estate model, along with the Estate 4x4 version, made its world debut. A freshened Skoda Fabia for the 2005 model year also made its first public appearance.
The new Skoda Octavia Estate offers another bodystyle of the Octavia hatch, which went on sale in July. Built on the same all-new platform as the hatch, the Estate offers an exceptionally roomy interior and luggage compartment. With the seats in place, carrying capacity of 580 litres is top in its class, rising to 1,620 litres with the rear seats folded. The new Skoda Octavia Estate offers an extraordinary combination of large interior, excellent handling and performance, loads of comfort, high build quality, and last but not least, excellent value for money. All this adds up to Skoda’s "extra bit of car".
The new Octavia Estate 4x4 car continues a tradition of Skoda four-wheel drive cars. As with the current Estate 4x4, the four-wheel drive system is operated by a Haldex electronically controlled multi-plate clutch that uses sensors around the car to determine the amount of drive needed for the rear wheels.
