Skoda Octavia vRS (2013)

The new Skoda Octavia vRS goes on sale July 2013 and is set to be the fastest vRS to date, more power and better fuel economy. The vRS is available as either a saloon or estate.

Skoda Octavia vRS Engines

There is a choice of two engines either a 2.0-litre petrol 220 PS or a 2.0-litre diesel 184 PS.

The 2.0 TSI-petrol when mated to the six-speed manual gearbox, will take the Octavia vRS from 0 to 62 mph in 6.8 seconds and then on to a top speed of 154 mph. The diesel vRS 2.0 TDI-diesel will do 0 to 62 mph in 8.1 seconds with a top speed of 144 mph with the six-speed manual gearbox. You can opt for six-speed DSG dual clutch transmission which is available for either engine.

Skoda Octavia vRS Suspension

The vRS is equipped with sport suspension as standard; it is lowered by 12mm over the standard saloon and 13 mm over the estate model. It now features an Electronic differential lock XDS integrated into the electronic stability control (ESC) to improve traction and curb understeer.

As standard the vRS runs on Dorado’ 17” light alloys fitted with 225/45 tyres with the choice of 18” ‘Gemini’ and ‘Pictoris’ alloys (each for 225/40 tyres). There is even a colour choice with the ‘Gemini’: silver and anthracite. If you prefer you can opt for the ‘Xtrem’ 19” light alloys in black.

Skoda Octavia vRS Styling

The foot print of the new vRS has increased in length by (+88 mm, estate +86 mm) and width by (+45 mm). The wheelbase has been lengthened to 102 mm which has shortened the overhang. There is more internal room with the boot now able to accommodate 590 litres and 610 litres for the estate, plus the rear headroom has increased and there is more legroom.

The vRS stands out from the standard Octavia range with front grille featuring the vRS badge; there are distinctive honeycomb air intakes, a bespoke vRS-style front bumper with fog lights. Bi-xenon headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights are standard.

At the rear there are two trapezoidal-shaped chrome exhaust tailpipes, LED rear lights and a rear spoiler.

The interior features vRS front seats with a leather steering wheel, gear stick and handbrake with stainless steel sill plates and pedals -

Skoda Octavia vRS Standard Equipment

There is an array of ‘Simply Clever’ features, such as the foldable cargo items as well as the double-sided boot flooring, an ice scraper in the fuel cap and there is a high-visibility jacket under the driver’s seat. There are also litter containers, multimedia holders and a number of storage compartments, holders and hooks fitted as standard in the new Octavia vRS. The new Octavia estate vRS has an optional adjustable boot floor. The jacket shelf under the boot cover is new in the estate vRS. The roller cover for the boot can be removed and stowed under the adjustable loading floor.
