Llandudno-based King Kabs is replacing its fleet of Mercedes C-Class taxis with Skoda Octavias - with no compromise on quality or space.

King Kabs proprietor Terry Moorhead is “delighted” with his decision, “I spent a lot of time looking into which car would be the best in terms of price, reliability, quality and interior space. I narrowed my list down to around five or six vehicles including some prestige brands, and in every category the Octavia was top of the table, so it left me with no choice!”

The taxi company is currently halfway through replacing its fleet of 14 cars. “Our customers have been commenting on the impressive legroom in the back, while drivers have been saying how much more roomy the Octavia is with its increased boot space and headroom.”

Local Skoda retailer Slaters Skoda is supplying the fleet of Octavias. Terry adds, “Not only have the cars proved to be great quality and totally reliable, but Slaters has provided first-class customer service too. They’ve kept me informed of the order status at all stages and have really gone out of their way to make my life as easy as possible.”

All the Octavias being supplied are 1.9 TDI hatchbacks, which even in the Classic trim level has bags of Skoda’s legendary great value as standard. Equipment includes height and reach adjustable steering wheel, front seatbelt pre- tensioners and heated door mirrors.

The Octavia is part of the Skoda family that includes the supermini Fabia, Skoda’s sporty vRS models and top-of-the range Superb. All provide Skoda’s “extra bit of car” and the customer service that earned Skoda and its retailers second place overall in both the 2004 J.D. Power Survey of Customer Satisfaction and the Top Gear Customer Satisfaction Survey.
