Skoda has welcomed John Clark Motor Group's latest dealership to its rapidly-growing retailer network and commends the group's attitude towards customer service and commitment to the brand.
John Clark Motor Group has been trading for more than 30 years, specialising in the sale of new and used vehicles from its 14 businesses across the East coast of Scotland. This latest addition to the network is a smart move by the company that saw a gap in the market for Skoda's award-winning cars and excellent aftersales and wanted to capitalise on the success of the manufacturer.
The former Peugeot dealership will shortly be refurbished to the latest Skoda corporate standards and incorporates an eight-car showroom, a five-bay workshop catering for cars and light commercial vehicles and a 35-vehicle used car display.
Commenting on the opening, John Clark, Chairman and Managing Director of the John Clark Motor Group, said: "The Skoda brand is developing very strongly and, looking at the plans for the next five years, it is quite obvious this will continue. As a group we have always taken the view that we should invest in premises which provide the space a growing business needs.
"We are delighted to be investing in this new business and look forward to bringing Skoda back into Dundee. We have a strong track record with Skoda through our established Specialist Cars Skoda dealership in Aberdeen. Our aim is to build on this expertise to extend our reputation for quality service and customer care with the new Specialist Cars Skoda in Dundee."
Robert Hazelwood, Brand Director for Skoda UK, adds: "We are investing heavily in developing our retailer network across the UK, and are delighted to welcome Specialist Skoda's Dundee business to our group. As a brand, we have an excellent reputation for second-to-none customer service and we fully support our retailers to make the buying and owning of a Skoda a great experience for all our customers. Specialist Skoda has continually proven it shares our attitude and ethos, and we are proud that it will be providing motorists in Dundee with our award-winning range of cars."
The group is projecting an annual turnover of £8 million for the new Dundee dealership, with anticipated sales of 400 new and used vehicles annually. The opening has created 14 new jobs immediately and the group expects this number will increase as the business develops.
The John Clark Motor Group is Scotland's fourth largest motor trade group and within the top 30 in the UK. It has an annual turnover of £260 million and 637 employees.
