SEAT has added another award to its growing list of product accolades. For the second year running the SEAT Alhambra has been voted Used Car Buyer magazine’s Best MPV by its panel of 15 expert judges. The Alhambra beat off its closest rivals, Ford Galaxy and Renault Espace, by impressing the judges with its fitness for purpose, value for money, low running costs, reliability, residual value and image.
Commenting on the Alhambra’s win, Guy Baker, Features Editor of Used Car Buyer said: "The Alhambra is sporty and fun and makes every journey feel like a holiday – a mighty endearing trait in any family car. It provides tremendous used value and is still the very best full-sized MPV that you can buy."
The Alhambra is no stranger to awards. It scooped the Used Car Buyer, Best MPV award last year and is the three-times winner of Fleet News Best MPV. Its enduring appeal is not limited to used car buyers either, with new prices starting at £16,000 and impressive standard specification across the range including air conditioning, electric front windows, radio/cassette/CD player, front and side airbags, ISOFIX and alarm. The range has also recently been enhanced with the addition of the new family oriented "six-seater plus cool/warm box" Alhambra SX which is powered by the acclaimed 130 PS 1.9 litre TDi engine, which provides an unbeatable mixture of power, fuel economy and low emissions, all for just £19,000 on the road. This new engine is also available in the higher spec’d Alhambra SE.
Used Car Buyer also Highly Commended SEAT’s most sporty model, the Leon Cupra R in its Hot Hatch category. Guy Baker said: "It delivers refinement and handling composure on the limit that are hard to match. Its latent promise combines with high standard equipment to provide a real performance bargain."
