SEAT UK has announced its pricing and specifications for the 2006 model year Altea applicable from the 1st August 2005. The new pricing structure and model range makes the Altea even better value and more competitive than before.
The SEAT Altea, designated an MSV (Multi Sports Vehicle) because of its unique mix of practicality and flexibility presented in an unsually sporty and stylish package, now starts at £11,695 on the road rising to £17,595. The entry-level petrol-powered Altea 1.6 Essence has room for five adults to travel in comfort with room for all their luggage in the 409 litre boot and their personal effects in the many boxes, pockets, cupholders and cubby holes in the cabin. A new feature on Altea is the rear seat which slides forward 14 cm to increase boot space by an additional 101 litres, but still leaves plenty of rear legroom for the rear seat passengers. Other standard equipment includes six airbags (front, side, curtain), front electric windows, AM/FM radio/CD player, ABS & TCS, remote central locking, volumetric alarm, height adjustable driver’s seat and tyre pressure monitor. The Altea’s exceptional levels of active and passive safety have earned it a five star rating for occupant protection in the stringent Euro NCAP crash tests, four stars for child protection and three stars for pedestrian protection.
The Altea Reference has all the benefits of the Essence model but gains air conditioning as standard and brings a choice of the same 1.6-litre petrol engine or a 105 PS 1.9-litre TDI and is priced at £12,195 and £13,195 respectively.
Recent additions to the Altea range are two Reference Sport models, again powered by the 1.6 petrol or 1.9 TDi engines. Reference Sport keeps all the equipment of Reference, but gets some sporty additions including front fog lights, 16" alloy wheels, sports suspension, sports seats and leather steering wheel and gear knob. Prices are £12,495 for the petrol and £13,495 for the diesel.
Altea Stylance models add a host of comfort items to Reference specification. The air conditioning system is two-zone climate control, the rear windows are electric and the radio/CD can be operated from controls on the steering wheel. Cruise control, a trip computer, height adjustable passenger seat, illuminated driver and passenger mirrors on the sun visors, front fog lights and "coming home" function on the headlights complete the equipment. Altea Stylance also has the option of an automatic Tiptronic gearbox which is coupled to the 2.0 litre 150 PS petrol engine. Prices are £13,195 (1.6), £14,195 (TDI) and £16,195 for the 2.0 Tiptronic.
Altea Sport is for the driving connoisseur who wants all the space and style the Altea offers, but with even more sporty performance. Altea Sport has the choice of the 2.0 litre 150 PS FSI petrol engine or a 2.0 litre 140 PS TDI engine to go with its sports suspension, standard ESP and sports seats. Both engines are coupled to six-speed manual gearboxes, but the TDI also has the choice of the highly acclaimed DSG automatic gearbox. Prices are £15,995 for the 2.0 FSI, £16,695 for the 2.0 TDI and £17,595 for the 2.0 TDI with DSG.
All Altea pricing is on the road including VAT, first registration fee and plates, one year’s road tax, three-year/60000 miles mechanical warranty, 12-year body protection warranty and two years’ SEAT Service Mobility roadside assistance valid in over 30 countries.
