The opening of the Birmingham International Motorshow saw chart-topping band Liberty X unveil the New Renault Mégane – the only UK Top 10 best-seller to debut as an all-new car at the show - a partnership bringing together the two hottest new acts on the block. The new car with the “X factor” that marks it out as something special has entered into a dream partnership with the hottest new pop band who are just bursting with the “X factor” themselves.
The striking looking New Mégane is on sale this week and has already caused a storm with its original design, the like of which hasn’t been seen before in the hotly contested mid-sized hatch market. As Auto Express commented after placing it in first place after an exhaustive 10 car group test “The New Mégane is a fine creation and wins this test. Brilliantly designed, yet practical and refined, it’s simply a great all-rounder”.
Meanwhile Liberty X has been working the critics and fans alike into a frenzy with the ITV music show CD:UK saying, “Liberty X is one of THE biggest music stories of the year”. Five of the 10 finalists from the original Popstars TV programme, the band - Kelli, Jessica, Michelle, Kevin and Tony - have proved to have real staying power with their third single “Just a Little” taking the number one spot in the charts over the summer. Officially the most played radio track of the quarter, it helped their first album “Thinking it Over” - which included 10 tracks co-written by the band - go platinum in the sales chart. Their latest single “Got To Have Your Love” went straight into the charts at number two and was performed by the band on the Renault stand in Birmingham during the unveiling of New Mégane.Renault UK Managing Director, Philippe Talou-Derible commented at the unveiling “Cars are a huge part of our everyday life and, along with architecture, the biggest influence on our everyday surroundings. New Mégane is head and shoulders above the competition in the style department but can back that up with real substance. A dramatic-looking car that will appeal to people interested in modern design and who are confident-enough not to follow the herd.” He continued “I wanted a partnership that was going to get our stunning new car in front of a different audience from those that read the motoring pages - people who take little interest in what car they buy only because they think all cars look the same. Some of the real style trend-setters in today’s world are the top pop bands and “Liberty X” reflects perfectly the values we want to communicate about New Mégane. Great looking, exciting, intelligent and, with real substance behind the gloss providing that special “X factor”, their sales record speaks for itself. With their first nation-wide tour planned for next year I’m delighted that all five members of the band will soon be driving a New Mégane and look forward to supporting them as much as possible in the expectation that we can both be top of our respective sales charts.”
