Renault Laguna

Buyers looking for an upper-medium car are being spoilt for choice by Renault as it introduces new versions to its Laguna range. The introduction of a new model - Extreme - new engine/transmission combination - 2.0 Turbo Automatic - and the addition of the Comfort pack as standard to Dynamique and Dynamique Techno models all ensure that there are even more Lagunas to suit every customers pocket.

Renault Laguna Extreme

A new model to the Renault Laguna range - Extreme - offers sporty appeal to upper-medium customers at the lower end of the range, fitting beneath the Dynamique model with prices from £15,575 on-the-road.

The Laguna Extreme features two of Renault's mid-range petrol engines - 122bhp 1.8 16V and 165bhp 2.0 Turbo 16V - and the two most powerful diesel engines in the Laguna range - 120bhp 1.9dCi and 150bhp 2.2dCi - plus the newest addition to the range, a five-speed Proactive automatic gearbox for the 2.0T.

The Extreme's more sporty edge is emphasised by 17-inch Louxor alloy wheels and rear spoiler on the Hatch or alloy effect roof bars on the Sport Tourer, while the inside also gets the sporty treatment with part leather sports front seats with better bolstering and thicker three spoke sports steering wheel. The driver's seat gains lumbar support and the passenger's seat a height adjuster, while this sporty package is all protected by a Category 1 alarm, also as standard.

The Extreme model is based on the entry-level Authentique trim level, hence it also features manual air conditioning, electric/heated door mirrors and 60 Watt Single-CD RDS Radio with six speakers and fingertip remote control on top of the core features seen on every Laguna.

Core features include ABS with EBV electronic rear brake proportioning valve, emergency brake assist, driver, front passenger, front lateral and curtain airbags, front safety belts with two pretensioners on the driver's side, three-point safety belts for three rear seat passengers, remote-controlled door locking plus ignition with the Renault Card, ISOFIX child seat attachment system on the two rear side places, Renault Anti-Intruder Device (RAID) - locking all doors automatically as the car pulls away, power-assisted steering, trip computer, reach and rake-adjustable steering wheel, deadlocking, double optic headlamps and electric front windows.

In addition all 2.0T and 2.2dCi 16V models feature ESP and traction control as standard.
