Renault's Modus supermini, launched last year, continues to attract a growing band of fans to its special blend of cheeky looks and giant interior space wrapped up in a body style no longer than its Clio stablemate. With sales running ahead of target in the UK at over 10,000 since launch, two new special editions have been readied to capture sales in the big summer months - Modus Oasis and Modus Maxim - both with air conditioning as standard and are available to order now.
Diesel Car magazine Supermini of the Year 2005Not only has Modus captured customer's hearts but it continues to attract rave reviews from the Press, most recently being voted Diesel Car Magazine's 2005 Supermini of the Year. The previous three years had seen Clio dCi 65, 80 and 100 respectively, win the Supermini award, but new Modus came and elbowed aside its stablemate borrowing its engines and wrapping them up in a stylish and spacious new bodyshell.
One of the judges Sue Baker commented "Cute looking and very practical with lots of space and versatility crammed into modest dimensions. Friendly to drive with its 1.5 litre 80 bhp common rail diesel engine."
