Renault’s ground-breaking Espace has set the benchmark in the large MPV market for more than 20 years now and the latest revised version launched earlier this year ensured it remains the most modern, stylish and safest large MPV, leading Fleet World magazine to describe Espace as “the segment leader, without question”.
Diesel-engined versions of Espace account for 90% of sales so for the 2007 model year all diesel versions are now Euro IV emission compliant with 10 more horsepower for the entry-level 1.9 dCi raising the power output to 130hp. Some diesel engines are also equipped with exhaust particulate filters (FAP). The mid-level Dynamique trim, first introduced on Espace in January 2005, has become the most popular version, so a fresh new look with new interior and exterior features is available to order from 11th September.
New interior and exterior featuresNew Espace Dynamique will be available in five engine choices, one petrol, the 2.0 Turbo 170 and 2.0 Turbo 170 Auto and four new Euro IV diesel: the dCi 130, dCi 140 Automatic FAP, dCi 150 and the powerful dCi 175 FAP.
Other Espace engines available in the range include the entry-level petrol 2.0 16V 140 and range-topping 3.5 V6 24V 245 auto and 3.0 dCi V6 180 auto, the Espace’s trump card as it is the only MPV to offer a V6 diesel engine.
The interior includes all-new upholstery for the Dynamique trim with red stitching, bi-coloured red and black seatbelts and new four spoke leather steering wheel emphasising the Espace Dynamique’s stylish and sporty look.
The exterior features new 17” Tellus alloys, chrome exterior door handles and roof bars and a body-coloured windscreen base ensuring the modern theme continues on the outside of New Espace Dynamique as well as the inside.
The new-look Espace Dynamique may be more stylish than other MPVs, but it’s also versatile and safe too with features such as seats with the safety belt built-in to provide maximum comfort and safety irrespective of the positioning of the seat or angle of recline and the ‘slide and lock’ system, which are sliding seat rails set in the floor allowing infinite movement within the cabin to maximise practicality. New Espace ensures you and your family not only travel in comfort but also secure in the knowledge that Espace comes with a top five-star crash test safety rating from Euro NCAP.
Prices for the New Dynamique start at £23,945 for the 2.0 Turbo 170, rising to £28,175 for the dCi 140 Auto FAP.
More colours and more soundDriving such a superior and stylish MPV as an Espace obviously ensures you stand out from the crowd, and now you can set yourself apart from those other less sophisticated MPVs even more by choosing the all-new colour for the Espace range, Venitian Red.
The boot-mounted 4x30W 6 CD player has been deleted and replaced by a more practical and more powerful 4x40W dash-mounted 6 CD player, previously a £450 option.
